Leontin Sweater and Le Crop Jeans

The Leontin is probably my favorite Sézane sweater. I got this style when it first came out a few years ago and it’s still such a classic. It now comes in a bunch of additional color options. It’s organic cotton with a slight balloon sleeve. It looks great with jeans and shorts and it’s the perfect style for tucking in because it’s not too long. I sized up in this style for an oversized fit but the length is slightly cropped so I’d recommend getting your true size or one size up.

Wear it with white jeans or shorts for spring and summer and pair it with leather sandals for a classic and preppy look.

Sami Jumper and Straight Leg Trousers with Sandals

The Sami jumper is a gorgeous neutral knit with a button sleeve detail that makes it anything but boring. I wore this on our warm weather getaway in Florida and got tons of compliments.

I love it paired with these straight leg pants for an elevated and sophisticated look that’s still so comfortable and effortless. For spring and summer leather sandals are great and for fall loafers or flats are a nice option. This look would be a great outfit for the office, especially in the warmer months if you work in an office building that blasts the AC. It looks professional and polished but also really comfortable.

Gaspard Cardigan with White Tank and Jeans

The Gaspard Cardigan is a Sézane classic. They’ve had this style for years and it’s absolutely timeless. What I love about this style is you can wear it open as a cardigan with the buttons in the front or wear it closed with the buttons in the back as a pullover sweater. I really like the navy because it’s such a versatile color for a wardrobe, but the Gaspard comes in a bunch of beautiful shades.

This style fits fairly true to size but it’s recommended to size down if you’re in between sizes. I did size down and like that it’s more fitted that way. It’s a nice light cardigan that keeps you warm but is a thinner knit so easy to layer under jackets or blazers. It looks great with everything from jeans or trousers to dresses.

Lucas Jumper with Skinny Trousers and Clogs

The Lucas Jumper is a great knit for fall and winter (and spring if it’s chilly where you live). It’s a slightly chunkier knit sweater with a front button detail and ribbing at the sleeves and hem. This style will keep you warm and cozy layered over a button down or black turtleneck in the winter months.

For a casual outfit wear it with jeans and boots or sneakers. It also looks chic with skinny trousers paired with clogs or flats in the fall.

Betty Cardigan with Maxi Dress and Booties

The Betty Cardigan is more like a jacket made with merino wool. It has a shirt collar and front pockets with buttons. I ordered several sizes up in the Betty Cardigan because I wanted it oversized, but this style of jacket is cropped so keep that in mind. It looks great over dresses but also can be styled in a casual outfit with jeans and booties.

Tunic Jumper with Skinny Trousers and Clogs

The Josette Tunic Jumper is incredibly warm and cozy. It’s one of my favorite oversized sweaters for cold weather. This would be a great style to pair with knee high boots, but I also love it with skinny trousers and clogs.

Another great winter outfit is to pair it with wide leg jeans and a wool coat. This would look really cute if you have fitted leather pants or faux leather leggings with booties.

Cropped Jose Jumper With White Jeans

If you’re looking to add a pop of color the Jose jumper is so pretty in blue or pink. It’s a thicker knit perfect for chilly weather with a slightly cropped fit. I also love it with the Le Crop jeans and booties for spring. You could dress up this sweater with a midi skirt or layer it over a dress like I did here.

Louise Jumper with Wide Leg Jeans

The Louise Jumper is one of my favorite neutral sweaters. It looks gorgeous dressed up or with a casual outfit like wide leg jeans and a wool coat. This style also looks really chic with the Cyprien Straight Pants. I love this style for fall and winter because it’s a lighter knit but very warm. The button sleeve detail is so pretty too.

Summer is coming, and that means denim shorts weather. It felt like the perfect time to update my round up of my top 5 denim shorts. The number one thing I look for is comfort, there is nothing worse than stiff, tight denim, especially on a hot day, no thanks. What I love about all of these pairs is they get better every time you wear them. Some of them feel like that pair you’ve had forever right away, and a few others take a little breaking in but are worth the wait. One thing I’d recommend for pretty much all of these is to minimize washing. The more you wear them, the more comfortable and molded to your body they feel. One thing is for sure, I can not wait for shorts weather.

AGolde Dee Shorts

This is hands down one of my favorites. They’re SO comfortable. From the day I got them, they fit like a glove. AGOLDE sizing can run big but this pair fits me TTS (size 24). These are a high waist fit, lighter wash and have distressing with a frayed hem. I’ve worn this pair too many times to count.

I got this style from Madewell last year and they’re super comfy. They’re mid length, sit a little bit lower on the hips (I sized down) and have a tiny side slit. They have a tiny bit of stretch but I like that they still feel structured.

Levi’s 501 High Rise Shorts

I’ve had this pair of Levi’s for years. This pair needs a bit more breaking in and I recommend going a size up. Once you do break them in though they are super comfortable. This is a pair I’d recommend keeping washing to a minimum.

Levis 501 in White

Can you tell I love the 501s? They definitely take a little breaking in but for the price and how they feel once you do wear them a few times it’s hard to beat. This is the same style as my other Levi’s but in white. As with the other pair I recommend sizing up and washing infrequently. It takes a few wears to break these in.

How To Style A Basic Tee

This might seem obvious, but tucking in your basic tee instantly adds polish. Whether it’s jeans, sweatpants, trousers or a skirt, give the look shape and structure with a tucked in t-shirt. For a more oversized tee, you can do a half tuck so it doesn’t get too bulky.

dress it up

Wear a basic t-shirt under a silk slip dress or pair it with a polished blazer to dress it up. You can make it work appropriate with trousers and loafers or chic for a night out with a midi skirt.

Size up for a comfy oversized fit. The Saint James Breton in Unisex is a favorite for a chic oversized tee (in a thick cotton fabric). Tuck it in to give it some shape or do a half tuck.

Don’t overcomplicate it! A basic tee is a classic that looks great with jeans. Seriously, it’s that easy. You can accessorize with jewelry, add a chic tote bag or throw on sneakers and head out the door.

We’re a month away from the outdoor tennis courts opening up here in Woodstock. Tennis has always been one of my favorite sports. I started playing as a kid, doing camps and lessons with my friends in the summer. I played all through school, including high school where I played singles and competed in the state championship my senior year. Then I stopped playing for a while in my 20s and played infrequently over the last few years until recently and now I’m fully hooked again. It’s such a fun sport to play and I truly believe it’s something you can pick up at any point in your life.

Tennis gear has changed quite a bit since I was playing frequently and there are so many great options. Having the right tennis gear can help you be more comfortable while playing tennis, and the type of gear and accessories you need will depend on your level of play. If you’re a beginner no need to go spend a ton of money on gear. You can start with the basics and go from there. There are some things you need whether you’re a beginner or an avid tennis player, and today I’m sharing my top must have tennis gear. Read on for more.

Tennis Dresses

Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress

This is my number pick for a tennis dress. It’s comfortable and lightweight, and has a built in shorts liner with pockets large enough to hold tennis balls. The straps are adjustable too. It fits true to size/slightly big. I sized down to an xs.

Girlfriend Alpine Lola Dress with float liner

I like all of the exercise dresses from Girlfriend but the Alpine Lola Dress with Float Liner is very soft and comfortable. It also has a shorts liner. Another great option for tennis in the heat!

Pact Athleisure Dress

Made with organic cotton this athleisure dress has adjustable straps and a built in body suit with bike shorts. It also has two side pockets and comes in a few different colors.

Tennis Skirts

Girlfriend Sport Skort

I got this skort from Girlfriend last summer and I absolutely love it. I also wore it to play golf a ton. It’s really comfortable and great to wear even if you’re not playing a sport! Girlfriend runs a little small I usually get true to size or size up.

lululemon tennis skirt

The Lululemon Pace Rival Skirt is a good option because it comes in 3 lengths and multiple color options. It’s available in sizes 0-20 and is made in a lightweight, sweat wicking fabric.

Tennis Sneakers

For playing indoor and clay courts I wear ON The Roger Advantage Shoes. Clay courts are softer and more forgiving so tennis shoes on these surfaces can have a thinner and lighter sole.

When playing on hard surfaces indoor and outdoor I like the ASICS Gel Dedicate 7. These are an affordable tennis shoe and are a little stiff at first but don’t take long to break in.

Tennis Hat

If you’re looking for sun protection a lightweight hat is great. You’ll probably notice a lot of pros don’t wear sunglasses when playing. Most wear a visor or a hat. This hat is adjustable, moisture wicking and lightweight.

Polarized Sunglasses

Maybe obvious but I am not a pro tennis player. I typically wear sunglasses when I play in the summer because a hat is just not enough for my eyes in the beating sun. I really like the Smith Cheetah Polarized Sunglasses because they have a large frame but don’t feel heavy and don’t move around while I’m playing.

Tennis Racquets

It has been years since I bought a new tennis racquet and maybe it’s just the internet but it seems like there are so many more options. I like to have two racquets at all times because if you’re in the middle of a match and a string breaks without a backup you’re screwed. That said, if you’re a beginner, no need to have two racquets. Here’s what I like to play with:

Babolat Pure Drive

I played with Head racquets all through high school and it wasn’t until recently that I used a demo Babolat racquet and loved it. I tested a bunch of different racquets and the Pure Drive was my favorite for overall feel and control. It’s lightweight and great for low to medium racquet speed. I have small hands so my grip size is 4 1/4 (you can always get an overgrip if your grip feels too small). This is a great racquet for intermediate level players.

HEAD Ti s5 comfort zone

If you’re a beginner this is a great racquet to try. The Head TI S 6Comfort Zone has an oversized head at 107″ but still has great power and control. It’s also a great price at under $100. It’s a lightweight, well-balanced racquet and this one comes pre-strung!

Tennis Bag

Craig got me the Babolat Strike foldover backpack tennis bag for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It can fit up to 3 tennis racquets, sneakers, and tennis balls. You can also fold it over if you’re not carrying racquets. The backpack straps are padded and adjustable.

Craig has the Babolat 2021 Pure Aero Tennis Bag which can fit more racquets and has a large compartment for sneakers and tennis balls.

Grips

Do you need an overgrip for your tennis racquet? Maybe. It’s personal preference, but the purposes of an overgrip can be anything from increasing the racquet handle size to adding cushioning for comfort. They can also help absorb sweat and keep the racquet from slipping in your hands. An overgrip will also help preserve the original grip that your racquet comes with. Here are a a few options:

Wilson Pro Overgrip- Comfort – Absorbs sweat, helps prevent blisters and adds comfort without adding too much bulk to your grip.

Yonex Supergrap Overgrip – If you’re looking to add some fun color this overgrip comes in a bunch of bright hues. It also has thick cushioning and help absorbs sweat.

Tennis Strings

If you’re a beginner you probably don’t need to buy strings (unless the racquet you’re buying isn’t pre-strung). That said, if you’re bringing your racquet to be strung they can give you options. This is something I generally don’t keep on hand as I havea back up racquet and know that if I need a racquet strung I’ll have plenty of options where I take it. Tennis Balls

I like to play with Wilson US Open Tennis Balls. They have great bounce and last the longest. You can also get several different options like High Altitude, Extra Duty (hard surface) and Regular Duty (clay/indoor courts). The Wilson Triniti Tennis balls have recyclable packaging which is a nice option.
